Dana, the comments you've heard are right on the money for what we've seen so far
but we keep hearing that now in Mex it is wonderful, with lots of scenes between Guy and Edith and the characters have improved in depth... so some of us are going to hang on and wait patiently.
Yes, after watching Cafe (or if you also have had the opportunity to watch Guy in La Mentira) you get used to Guy playing characters that might be 'wrong' decision makers, but at least are, like the forum friends put it in the Salome forum, "oozing power and self-confidence". Julio, his character in Salome, is a husband who is manipulated by his mother, has not been able to make love to his 2-year long wife for the last year or more because, we just found out, she has been diagnosed with uterine cancer by doctors looking at a ct scan of her HEAD!!! and the novela is lacking dialogue and storyline continuity, with too many side stories and characters and too little forward movement in the story or character development... so it's not a good start, but since GUy was so dissappointed with his character at first and they made some MAJOR changes and the audience liked it so much they extended it from 90 to 190 episodes, we are sticking around some more to see where it goes...
