(There is a big Coffee regional committee meeting at Avellanedas conference room. Salinas and Gaviota had prepared a report with tons of data for the marketing campaign plans to get the approval of the committee. Gaviota puts the folders on Marta's desk as she has borrowed Susana's makeup since she had no idea Salinas would ask her to attend the meeting. As Gaviota is in the restroom, Susana takes the folders and hides them away...)
(At Hacienda, Miguel begins to call girlfriends from his little black book until he realizes it is late... but Juancho invites him to go out for a couple of drinks... he goes with Juancho...)
(Lucia goes to see Sebastian at his office and has some sharp pains there in front of Graciela. Seems the baby is coming soon)
(Salinas and Avellaneda are at the meeting already. It is the turn of Salinas to present his proposal, but Gaviota is not there yet, she is busy getting the entire office staff, cleaning crew and all, to help looking for the folders... she is pretty anxious... She begins to shout to everyone that this would get Dr. Salinas in big trouble... 'me suicido!!'... and notes Marta is crying )
G: Que es esa lloradera??!! Despues lloramos juntas!! Cuando no aparezcan! Si!! Lloramos juntas!! Como en las novelas!!(LOL!! Finally one of the cleaning ladies finds the folders, seems someone had put them in the cleaning staff room or somewhere else... Gav walks into the meeting to a worried Avellaneda and Salinas and the members of the committee who were demanding more specific figures from Salinas, who was trying to give them a too broad idea of their proposal... Mauricio introduces her as Catalina Olivares... LOL!!)
(Juancho is talking to Miguel about being a legal relative of the Vallejos...)
Jua: Tener el nombre ahi metido!! Eso es mas importante que cualquier cosa!! Aunque sea de pariente pobre como yo, Ah?? Vale mas que la libreta militar!! Que la cedula de ciudadania o cualquier pagare, HOMBRE!! (LOL!!)
(Two girls arrive and sit in next table. Miguel asks Juancho to bring them over and present them, Juancho goes to get them but when he tells them it is Miguel, Paula Vallejos husband, the girls turn it down... Juancho comes back to Miguel and explains to him that the girls wont mess with him because they know he is the husband of Doņa Paula and that that last name is sacred to them. Miguel is not happy about it...
Jua: En este pueblo el nombre de Seņoras no lo lleva la esposa!! Sino el marido!! Porque no se le olvide! Usted es Miguel Tejeiros DE VALLEJO!! Ah?? Y todo lo que Usted haga por aqui Doņa Paulita lo va a saber, hombre!! (Juancho recommends to Miguel if he wants to have girls around , they need to go to another town, not stay there...)
(Salinas tells the committee members he was going to read the figures to them but Carolina can recite them from memory... The members of the committee are very positively impressed with Carolina's knowledge and presence... )
(Lucia calls Lucrecia and tells her about her visit to Carolina and about Sebastian's new project with gourmet coffee and tells Lucrecia to ask Ivan what he knows about what Sebastian will be doing with that...)
(The committee meeting is over. When they exit the conference room Avellaneda tells Salinas the committee members were very impressed with Carolina. Both Ave and Salinas are glad to have kept her around. Avellaneda says that with preparation, she can go very far within the Association. Carolina comes to them to tell them that she was delayed because the folders had dissappeared and she suspects there is someone in the Association trying to cause problems for her.)
G: Pero es que esas carpetas no aparecian!! Para mi que alguien me las cogio!!
Ave: Que??
G: Si!! Alguien, por hacerme la maldad!! Yo no es que este acusando... pero las Vallejo metieron ahi la mano seguro!!
Ave: Tiene que tener mucho cuidado. Pero bueno, Carolina! La felicito de todas maneras. Estuvo excelente!...
(Carolina and Salinas walk toward their office...)
G: Yo queria agradecerle la confianza que me dio! Porque hoy ha sido un dia tan importante para mi! Y estoy feliz de que le haya ido asi de bien!!
Sal: Nos fue, Gaviota! Nos fue. La felicito! Bueno, son las ocho y media, tenemos que preparar lo de los visitantes de maņana.
G: Noo!! A Usted le quedaron ganas de trabajar?? Lo de los visitantes ya esta listo, por DIOS!! Eso no es sino llamar y confirmar!
Sal: No mas?
G: No mas!
Sal: Bueno, entonces yo la llevo! Y anotamos unas cosas en el carro, si? Traiga algo con que anotar!
(Gaviota tells Susana on her way out that there is someone in the Association allied with the Vallejo ladies...)
G: Pero donde yo sepa quien es , es que la dejo como carne mechada!! (that is spanish for meat loaf, LOL!!!)
(in Salinas' car, Salinas tells Gaviota he has made arrangements for her to take courses at the Association about coffee marketing. Gaviota thanks him.
Sal: No, no me de las gracias. Yo me tire con un puņal por eso!
G: Porque?
Sal: Porque Usted no va a estar conmigo por lo menos cuatro horas al dia!! Y yo que voy a hacer??
G: Y Marta que??
Sal: (now gets irritated and louder, losing control of his tone ) Ay por favor!! Lo que pasa es que con Usted me esta dando como una adiccion a... una adiccion a... al cafe, por ejemplo!... Es que no se que me esta pasando!! Antes yo era capaz de hacer todas las cosas tranquilamente!! Sin Usted!! Y ahora no se que me pasa!!
G: Ah, Bueno. Pues de ahora en adelante voy a cuadrar mejor los tiempos. Para que Usted permanezca solo el menor tiempo posible!
