they're long... you can find more of them in pages 16,15 etc...
On their meeting that night Daniela was 15 minutes late. Sebastian finished the story, and Daniela asked him what he’s looking for. He said that he needs to get free of his obsession to Gaviota. She asked him for how long – until he gets his divorce (in 2 months) or forever? She said that if he looks for a temporary solution, he should go on vacation until he can divorce his wife. Sebastian felt deceived – that’s the advice she’s giving him? She said she advise him as his friend, not as his psychologist. If he wants her professional help, he should come to her clinic…And then she left, and she went to make a phone call before she exited the restaurant. The waiter told Sebastian that Daniela paid for the dinner, and that she observed him for 15 minutes when he arrived. Sebastian got angry, he approached her, and they argued. Eventually Daniela told him that she would give him an advice for free. She said that he’s afraid to be free of his obsession. He’s afraid to inquire if Gaviota was the only woman in the world for him. She said that he’s wants help, but he’s looking for superficial solutions. She definitely captured Sebastian attention, and he wanted to come to the clinic. She said that it was too late, but then she apologized and agreed, and he apologized for his behavior too.
Their next meeting occurred after Sebastian accepted some buyers’ offer to join them on their tour to Europe and USA – in order to promote his coffee. The tour was supposed to last a month, so he told Daniela that he took her advice (as her friend), and he’s going on a trip. Daniela wished him luck, they said goodbye and Sebastian exited the room. A second later he returned, and asked for her help. Then they decided to have a whole weekend dedicated to therapy. It was supposed to be on some place out of town. (Some kind of sanatorium).
Gaviota was worried because Sebastian kept his promise and didn’t have any connection with her. She was sad and disappointed and waited for his call. Salinas and Gaviota heard from one of the buyers that Sebastian would go on a trip...for a month. Sebastian refused to get the association’s help for the trip, and he refused to talk with Gaviota. Actually, he ended his relations with the association, and decided that from now on, all the communication between his office and the association would be done through the secretaries.
Gaviota invited Marcela and asked her about Sebastian. Marcela told her about the therapy, and suggested her to leave him alone for a while. She said that Sebastian looked calmer.
Gaviota intended to invite the Vallejo’s witches to the future events of the association. She changed her mind after she found that the witches were continuing to tell horrible things about her – this time to the association managers’ wives. She was also upset because she sensed that all those rumors started to affect Salinas.
Paula tried to find some information about Miguel’s lover. She was really mad at him, but he convinced her to give him a second chance. I have to say that Lucia and Miguel’s relationship is so bizarre. Is it based on a physical attraction? Lucia is very possessive, I don’t think that she could really love someone. And Miguel – he could never make a commitment to one woman – so why Lucia? Maybe he thinks about the money that he can get with her help (by their son – the “fake” Vallejo). I can’t think about another reason, Lucia’s stressing him so much…
Anyway, the clues to their relationship are starting to be exposed – the missing bottle (the rare wine that they drank together, and Sebastian wonders where is it) and Miguel’s handkerchief that Paula found in Lucia apartment. It should be interesting, I’ve waited for the truth exposure for so long!
Well, Sebastian was waiting in the sanatorium for Daniela but she didn’t arrive. Eventually she phoned the receptionist there and said that her car broke down. So Sebastian went to pick her up. Her car had some electricity problems, so she had to leave it there. She and Sebastian arrived very late to the sanatorium, and they were both hungry, but the dining room was closed. So they sneak out to the kitchen, and “stole” some food…they looked like two teenagers, and it was one of the many times, that Daniela didn’t act like a professional. They ate outside in the dark, and drank juice from the same bottle. Sebastian told her that he never had a woman-friend.
On the next morning, they had their session in the garden. It was a very beautiful place, full with flowers. Sebastian mentioned the wonderful aroma there. She asked him if the aroma was similar to Gaviota’s and he said no. She asked him to describe Gaviota’s aroma but he couldn’t because the aroma he sensed there was so strong. And then he realized that the aroma that he sensed there was Daniela’s. He smelled her and she was a little embarrassed, she said that it wasn’t her aroma but her perfume. I think that the whole aroma thing was symbolic. He walking away from Gaviota (and that’s why he can’t talk about her aroma) and he’s getting closer to Daniela, as a woman.
Later he told Daniela how Gaviota was different from every woman that he knew until he met her. He said that Gaviota was the only woman for him, the ideal woman and the ideal love. She said that there are milliard women in the world (between the ages 18 and 40), and it can’t be that Gaviota is the only one for him. Sebastian said that he doesn’t care about the other women. Then she asked him if he expects to unconditional support from the ideal woman, and he said yes. Daniela said that on this difficult period of his life, the supposed ideal woman leave him alone to solve all his problems. Sebastian didn’t want to accept it at first, but eventually he had to admit that she had a point. It was like his illusions were broken. He was really down. Daniela told him to rest and she said that they would continue tomorrow.
Daniela was worried about him, so she went to his room but he wasn’t there. She went to look for him and found him in a bar. He said that the alcohol is the best cure for him, and he refused to go back to the sanatorium. Daniela tried to convince him to go back, but it was hopeless. He asked her to stay with him in the bar, as a friend, and in the end she agreed. It was another time that Sebastian caused her to behave unprofessionally. She drank and danced with him (after he stopped the orchestra and told everybody that he wouldn’t let it play until she would dance with him). They returned to the sanatorium, both of them were drunk. She tried to took the bottle from him and to return him the jacket he loaned her (but he refused), and there were some seconds that they were so closed to each other that I thought that they were going to kiss, but they didn’t. They went to their rooms. Sebastian was lying in the dark, he smiled and had some flashbacks from his dancing and drinking with Daniela and from similar experiences with Gaviota. It was like his moments with the two women mixed. There was another woman in his life now.
Daniela was in her bad, and she held his jacket and put her head on it. She was probably thought of what she did, how she broke the rules.
On the next morning Daniela was late for their session. When she finally arrived she told Sebastian that she wouldn’t be his therapist anymore…
Sebastian tried to convince Daniela that she gave him the best therapy, but she didn’t accept it. She felt that she failed as a psychologist. Her car wasn’t fixed yet, so she had no choice but returning to Bogota with Sebastian…he also arranged that her car would be towed to Bogota with his towing service card. So he went to Daniela apartment and stayed there until the car arrived. She warned him that he’s not solving his problem, and that he uses her as an excuse not to see Gaviota. Sebastian denied it.
At that weekend (when Sebastian was with Daniela) Gaviota was in Salinas’ apartment, and they were cooking (at least Salinas did. Gaviota- like me- is a disaster in the kitchen). Salinas wanted to try some recipes with coffee – for one of the association’s event. The food look delicious, but I didn’t like Salinas’ behavior at all! He used every opportunity to touch Gaviota, when he tied her apron or wiped her tears (when she cut onions). Gaviota told him very intimate details about her and Sebastian, and the whole situation just didn’t feel right IMO. On the next day he invited her and her mother to a restaurant, but Gaviota was really depressed, because she waited for a call from Sebastian, that didn’t come. I guess it’s her turn to wait for him and suffer…
Before his trip to Europe and the USA, Sebastian talked with Marcela. He said that Daniela was sensitive and smart and pretty and sensual. He told Marcela that he would be lucky if he would have a romance with Daniela. At first I was amazed…but now the idea doesn’t look so wrong to me somehow…I really like Daniela. She’s not Gaviota, of course, but she looks really good with Sebastian.
Daniela talked with a colleague about her professional failure. Her colleague said that maybe in that case the woman took over the therapist. He asked her to her opinion about Sebastian. She said that he’s lonely, no one understand him, he wants to love but doesn’t know how…and he’s sweet and sensual…
Sebastian went without phoning Gaviota (but he phoned Daniela). Gaviota was sad and disappointed. And Salinas couldn’t be happier…She was broken, and he couldn’t wait to pick up the pieces. I really disliked him at that point. (It’s weird. I like Daniela but I don’t like him). Anyway, his happiness didn’t last long, because he was sent to Japan. And Gaviota stayed alone, to organize her thoughts and feelings.
A month passed, and Sebastian returned. He won a prize for his coffee, and he gave it to Daniela! He felt very calm. And he didn’t want any contact with Gaviota. He didn’t want to hear about her, when Marcela mentioned her name (Gaviota talked with Marcela, and asked her about Sebastian).
Sebastian and Daniela have a friendly relationship. She gives him good advice, and he’s bringing her dinners and orchestras. They both like each other’s company, and it’s obvious that she’s falling in love with him (who wouldn’t?).
Gaviota started to understand that Sebastian wouldn’t phone her. She had to invite the Vallejo’s witches to the coffee’s convention, because there would be a memorial ceremony for Octavio (Sebastian’s grandpa). She was very nervous, because she would see Sebastian in the convention after a long time. Sebastian didn’t want to go, but he had to because of the ceremony.
The witches didn’t want to go to the ceremony, as protest (because they weren’t invited to the former association’s events. In the end they had to go, because Cecilia said that if they wouldn’t go to the ceremony, they wouldn’t participate in the reading of the accompanying letter of Octavio’s will.
The event began. Sebastian arrived and he was very calm and civilized. Gaviota was surprised. She thought that he would make a scene when he sees her with Salinas but no. Sebastian just kissed her on the cheek, complimented her about the event and went to say hello to his family. Later they talked about his success with the coffee, her success with her job. He told her that she looked pretty. And then the witches arrived (everybody was sure that they wouldn’t come, but they changed their mind on the last minute).
Sebastian went just after the ceremony, and told Gaviota to be careful because the witches were drunk. The witches approached her, and said some insulting comments and asked her about her past. Gaviota found it hard to control herself, so she finally mentioned how Sebastian was the guarantor for Lucia’s father huge debt. And that made the witches to shut up…Lucresia went to the WC. Gaviota followed her and hit her. It was less than Lucresia deserved. I would strangle the witches!!!
