S: Lucia aspira a quedarse con la mitad de todo lo que obtuvimos durante el matrimonio. Y encima de eso quiere una mensualidad! Ella conoce muy bien las condiciones y espero que Jorge Latorre tenga alguna razon de ella cuando regresemos.
Gav: Y Usted se quiere quedar con el nino?
S: Ay, Gaviota!... No se! Eso cada dia lo veo mas complicado! Ella no va a acceder. No me va a dejar ver el nino. Entonces, pues estaba pensando darle una mensualidad, no? Hablar con Jorge Latorre para girarle una mensualidad, que sea suficiente para ella y para EL! Porque si no, seria como castigar al nino. Bueno, pues entonces ahi si podria irme tranquilo (with Gav to Europe).
Gav: Claro! Eso me parece bien. A lo mejor entonces si se lo deja ver. Y con la hacienda que piensa hacer?
Seb: Pues, la hacienda no me preocupa tanto, sabes? Tengo a Arthur que estara al frente de todo eso. Pero aun asi! Tendremos que producir (sighs) cafe en cantidades fuertes como para pagar esa deuda del papa de Lucia.
G: Y que hubo con el prestamo que estaba buscando? Se lo dieron?
S: Si! Afortunadamente si. Lo unico que estamos esperando es la visita de unos Senores del banco que van a hacer una inspeccion! Ellos quieren cerciorarse que la hacienda puede producir cantidades suficientes como para amparar la deuda. Me tiene preocupado una cosa, sin embargo. Y eso es que nos han aparecido unos brotes de roya.
G:(Gav is very scared, she knows full well what that could mean) Como asi??
S: Arthur me llamo! Son brotes aislados, pero que tal que fuera a aparecer un brote cuando llegaran los Senores de la inspeccion?
(exactly this is happening at the hacienda, the assoc rep tells Arthur roya is everywhere, have to burn all crops - including gourmet even though it is the plant variety immune to the roya - and here come the bank folks arriving right at that moment... Arthur asks the hacienda staff who made the chloride mixes. When he is told Don Miguel did, and he told them not to worry, and the assoc rep tells him Miguel was asking a while back what can be done if the chloride is not used properly and roya is found and he told him nothing, the chloride is preventive treatment only, useless once roya is present... Arthur puts 2+2 together, the assoc rep tells him as long as the mix had some chloride, the color would be same so noone could tell if mix was strong enough, it might have been too diluted )
Arthur: (gets mad) Miguel sold the chloride!! ... 'Maldito!! Vendio el Oxycloruro!! Lo vendio, (the MF word in english)!! (right at that moment the bank folks arrive... poor Arthur! )
(Seb tells Gaviota he will have to come back to Bogota every once in a while to keep an eye on Ivan and to help Francisco out. He does not trust Ivan that much.
S: A proposito! A Ivan le va a dar un infarto cuando sepa que yo regrese contigo. Sabes que Lucrecia esta esperando de nuevo?... Oye! A ti que te pasa? No te gusta la idea de que yo este viajando siempre a Colombia? Tienes miedo de que te vaya a traicionar? jaja!
G: No! Pero yo soy mucha voluntad!... (according to the coming lines she is blaming herself, not familiar with colombian phrases)
S: Porque?
G: Yo debi haber aceptado esa hacienda que nos dejo su abuelo! Solo para sacarlo a Usted de apuros!
S: Ay, Gaviota!
G: SI!! No se estaria andando con riesgo!!
S: Eso jamas se me ocurrio!! Y esta no es hora para arrepentirse!
G: No! Es que si Usted se hubiera portado bien!... Y Usted no se hubiera encaprichado con esa psicologa, a mi no me hubiera dado la ventolera de regalar la hacienda!
S: (only semi-seriously protesting her accusation) Muy bonito!! Y ahora soy yo el culpable?? De tu terquedad!! De tu orgullo!! De todas tus cosas?? No, no!! (hugs her again and they keep walking) Deja de pensar en eso.
G: Y que queria que yo hiciera?? Con la insultada que me pego su primo?? A mi si me da mucho dolor pensar que eso le hubiera dado la mano a Usted!!
S: Gaviota, porque no hablamos de eso a otra hora, si?? Como dentro de unos 20 anos?? (kissy kissy)
(Seb tells Gav he would never make a deal with (or sell any of his coffee to) Ivan, Ivan is too cold and calculating...)
The fax from Assoc arrives to CE mgmt office. Margarita walks it to Francisco at his desk. At that moment, Ivan calls Fran at CE mgmt office from NYC. Tells him he is being shut down at the bank just as Francisco is reading the fax, telling him the licence for CE has been revoked. Francisco immediately gets really hysterical and has Margarita summon Jorge Latorre to the office ASAP!! Francisco calls Avellaneda, who is unwilling to tell him any further details other than those explained on the fax (I guess the fax did mention the action was related to the 'exportaciones ficticias' incident) and warns him that he is updating the legal prosecutors about it as well. Francisco tries to appeal for time to investigate based on the Assoc's long relationship with the family but Ave. won't give.)
Arthur calls Cecilia's asking for a phone number to contact Sebastian urgently. Since they don't have a way to contact Seb, he gives them the bad news, roya all over the hacienda, Miguel had sold the chloride that was meant to be sprayed at the crops, all crops are quarantined and will be burned, including the gourmet plants, and bank reps have denied the loan based on the roya issue...)
