Response to I felt the same way
I just have a few more minutes. Between my kids, husband, work, and several spoiled pets it gets very hectic around here! Anyhow, when I speak of Christmas being so special with my family I meant of course several close relatives and my immediate family. They were just like story book Christmases with the traditional hand picked and cut tree, beatiful white lights inside and outside, the manger, a moving train going around the tree, chestnuts roasting in the oven, cookies, etc. Oh and the gifts, gifts everywhere, and for everyone expected to visit our house on Christmas day. But, then my parent's had a nasty divorce. I was devestated! That next Christmas neither showed up at my Aunt's house. We were all so disapointed, but of course understood. Then relatves became ill, past away, and I was left heartbroken. Everything in my life changed so quickly and dramatically. I guess i was really looking for someplace to belong again. My husband and I had moved far from the church I attended and that made things worse. So when these nice people came along full of hugs and many complements about my spirituality and kept telling me Jehovah picked me to know the truth and live in the paradise, well I believed. Since my friend from Sweden was pretty cool and so were 2 of the girls I studied with i guess I was blinded to how things really were. I do thank my previous experiences with other religions for helping me see that no one group can claim to be the only right one. I was lost for a while, but am now finding myself again. See Ya.
