Response to Where do I begin?

I've been out for a long time now, but I can remember right after I left thinking that even though I didn't agree with the JW doctrines that they still had the most accurate interpretation of the bible.  Haha.  Then I found out how wrong I was, and in the process realized that pretty much every single thing  they told me needed to be looked at.  I couldn't assume anything they said was right or even close to right.

Basically, I had to start over.  Any time I had an opinion on something, I looked at where that opinion came from and why I felt like I did.  More often than not, it came from the platform (at least in part).  As time went on I eventually found my own way with my own opinions.

No real advice, but I would suggest looking into anything and everything that you can, particularly if you ever find yourself saying you agree with the JWs on something.
