Response to Yeah Rox...

that was one of the main logical thoughts that got me out of jdubism.

1. god was the beginning and created everything (thus making him responsible for the creation of evil)

OR

2. god was the beginning along with rules of the universe such as gravity, good & evil etc (thus making him not responsible for evil, but also NOT all-powerful)

then later, while reading some nice atheist material, i found out that thinkers/philosophers from centuries ago had already thought this up! and here i had my own logical breakthrough, to find out 9 years later that i was never the only one...but how grateful i am that i figured it out for myself because it means so much more to me this way.

i mean, dont we learn lessons better for ourselves...rather than just being told?

when i first read the quote (earlier this year) by Epicurus i felt so liberated and validated...the quote was

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?"
