as calm as one could expect a Mal! They are calm in the track - I don't know that they do anything special to calm them before starting out though. We start the dogs in a scent box - I mean originally - then when they are pretty easy in it we go to a second box, so they sort of learn to go easy in the track, not just fly through. I don't know if that makes them a little calmer later or not, but I know, other than KC, who forgets from one day to the next that he has ever had any obedience, most of the dog are pretty calm in tracking. KC is when he thinks about it but on a FED ME day, he just wants to find the weiners and will suck up the field to find them! |
