A group called the Fair Air Association of Canada(FAAC)recently put out a press release about the results of a poll that measured Quebecers attitudes to continuing to allow smoking in bars. Here are the highlights:
*Smokers frequent bars 50% more than non-smokers, an average of 28 times a year vs.18 for non-smokers.65% of smokers would cut back attendance if smoking bans were imposed.
*70% of non-smokers said allowing smoking does not deter their bar attendance.
*70% of Quebecers support the status quo or Designated Smoking Rooms.
*68% of Quebecers believe the decision to allow smoking should be left up to the owner.
