I enjoyed several good meals in Florence at Alle Murate on Via Ghibellina 52(red) Tel. (055) 240618 and at the adjacent Dino on Via Ghibellina 51(red) Tel. (055) 241452. Their food is divine and wine lists extensive and complete.
Arrive a the restaurant early at around 8pm. Take your time, order an apertif and have some antipasto while sipping prosecco. Have a glass or two of rosso di montalcino or Solaia with your first entree of stuffed ravioli or seafood pasta. Then, have another glass or two or three of brunello or even '85 Sassicaia with your second entree of a grilled meat in grape leaves or pork fillet. Then, end the meal with a glass or two of grappa. Of course, always have some espresso (not cappuccino!) while enjoying your dessert. Expect to stagger home around 10-11 pm, not earlier.
