Does anyone else here like oysters? I've never really been that much of a fan. Just the prospect of slurping down something as, well, I don't know quite how to describe them without being vulgar, has never appealed to me. Anyway, I tried some really fresh oysters a little while back and they changed my impression of them entirely. These Whistable oysters grow wild, i.e. not farmed, and had a much gamier, meaty taste to them than other ones that I've tried. They're available from the Whistable Shellfish Company, tel: 01227 282375, and are delivered 24-hour delivery to your front door. They cost roughly £24 per dozen and are available through October-April, roughly.
Again, only really of relevance to those based in the UK.
Welcome, as always, any other thoughts on oysters in general, though!
