I’ve seen the Coche-Dury being offered for sale and it has always been very expensive. I’d really like to try it. That said, if I were spending that much money I’d probably succumb to the allure of a good Sauternes, as I greatly prefer sweet wines to dry ones. I may try it, though. Perhaps, it will be the dry wine that will prove irresistible to me (hope not, in light of its rarity).
I haven’t heard of the Lafon Clos de la Barre, so I will have to look out for this one (I’ve tried an ’89 [I think it was an ‘89] Genevriers).
You seem to have a phenomenal knowledge of the geography of this region – are you a fan of the Wine Atlas (I like reading the maps, but I could not, as my tragic forays with orienteering during my youth will attest to, actually translate them into how things would look in the real world)?
