| Mme. Bize-Leroy's prices are extremely high. Will you get Lord Arran's gratuitous advice? I had had about 5 cases of her wines purchased in the USA after being carefully
tasted in advance and selected by the importer which also had a retail store. I was quite happy with them paticuliarly a superb 1959 Richebourg and 1959 Musigny and numerous lesser crus. I have since had an agent in France purchase at the firm and air freight me a total of 32 cases on several occasions. No advance tasting. Overall I wasn't happy with the quality considering the cost. For example I had 18 bottles of the 1978 Musigny. Drunk over a number of years they were very good but not nearly as good as the Comte de Vogue. When Mme. Bize-Leroy was still with DRC and her daughter ran the Swiss operation, the DRC wines I bought in Switzerland were better on average than those purchased in the USA. |
