Response to sorry, do you speak about the Gluehwein or the Feuerzangenbowle? >.

Hi folks,

sounds familiar for me

Lord Arran is correct; while Gluehwein is made by warming up the indigrients, Feuerzangenbowle requires a special sort of pliers

to hold the sugar cone

And the result of excessive Feuerzangenbowle is simply devastating.

For those interested in traditional german bakery, sweets and beverage for the winter/christmas season, please have a look at

http://www.germanembassyottawa.org/Christmas/baking.html

And some additional recipes may be found on
http://www.altfrankfurt.com/Weihnachten/
The Frankfurt region prefers the use of apple wine ("Aeppelwoi") instead of red wine.

And hereĀ“s another Feuerzangenbowle:

Cheers from germany,

Peter
