As a kid growing up overseas in Ghana and Tanzania I must say that FUFU ( poundwd cornmal or tapiocs, which was like blacmange only greay it was served with groundnut soup- yuck
In Hanggzhou working there I accidentally bought what I thought was sate' and found it was fremented beancurd-more like a smelly hot turd.
Also I hate that smelly prawn paste in Thailand they use in Som Tam when they make it Easarn style with the smashed up baby crabs.
The worst though was the dog curry in Suzhou I was served in a banquet.
