Response to Chinese curse

How very interesting. Thank you BD.

Question is, is my current (provisional) belief that the curse is neither Chinese nor Scottish but (perhaps) Austrian, any more founded than my previous belief that the curse was in fact Chinese...? It would be enough for someone to discover (say) that the curse has been used since the earliest times in a remote part of north-western China where the people speak neither Mandarin nor any of the other major Chinese languages, but rather an archaic dialect which has mysterious grammatical similarities to Gaelic and Danish - an area which Jung's nanny happened to come from, and, well, Bob's your uncle. Yes, clutching at imaginary straws... but I did so like thinking it was a saying of ancient oriental sagacity. Ho hum.

By the way, what exactly does that expression mean, Lord Arran?
Is it repeatable before one's Chinese grandmother?

Best regards,
