Dessert was fantastic too. It was almost a tasting menu within itself.
Banana bread with peanut butter gelee. This was great, almost like a pbj sandwich but much more sophisticated:
Next was a blood orange sorbet w/ black olive nougatine:
And a chocolate ganauche with mushroom ice cream:
And last but not least is a trio (from top to bottom) of caramel chorizo essence, Bailey's chocolate truffle, and olive oil pate feuille.
Yes that is not a typo, a caramel with chorizo (as in chorizo pork sausage). I guess molecular gastronomy has made it to Los Angeles. It sounds extremely odd but surprising it works and I really enjoyed it.
