Response to Seafood in Seattle

after spending the past 15 months there. My wife and I have been dining out about three nights a week and have several recommendations:

For seafood, I recommend the following:

Salty's - Alkai (West Seattle)
Great selection of fresh local and regional seafood and shellfish. Also the best view of Seattle around.

Ettas - Near the Pike Place Market
This is one of Tom Douglas' oldest (and in my opinion, best) restaurants. Great salmon. Good brunch.

Third Floor Fish Cafe - Kirkland
Lake Washington views and good menu

Waterfront Seafood Grill - Elliot Bay (Downtown)
Large restaurant with great fresh fish selection, and sweeping views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains.

Rovers - Madison Park
Although not a seafood restaurant, it is the best restaurant in Seattle. French cuisine with three fixed price menus nightly. Paired wines available with each course.

Spud - West Seattle, Greenlake, Juanita
Local fish and chips hangout

Chandler's Crab House - Lake Union
Fantastic views of the lake and seaplane base. King crab legs are the specialty but also a good selection of seafood and raw bar

If you get a chance, I recommend a trip to the San Juan Islands either by ferry or sea plane. Good seafood can be found in Roche Harbor (San Juan Island), Friday Harbor (San Juan Island) and East Sound (Orcas Island). If the weather cooperates the scenery in the islands is fantastic.

Have a great trip!
