Response to Looking for recommendations in Taipei...

After Taipei we took a train ride south to Hualien and were invited to a fabulous banquet at the Marshall Hotel. It was a great meal and an honor to be a guest of our generous host and we all had a wonderful time:

Our appetizer dish with steamed chicken, squid, roasted pork and roasted duck:

Some of the best fried rice I've ever had:

A delicious bowl of sharks fin soup:

Steamed fish in soy sauce with ginger and scallions:

Dumplings bok choy. I've never had this before and it was very tasty:
