Per Se and other NY restaurants

Well we are off to the big smoke. I will be running the NYC marathon but will be partaking in the culinary delights as well

I am interested in the forums oipion about Per Se. I know it is over the top expensive but from a foodies view , is it worth it.

Ate at Alinea in Chicago ( different syle I know ) but thought that was interesting , possibly a little overpriced.

Any other recommendation for NY- We will be travelling with a 15 year old. A young epicurean in the making!
