Can different cigars lie in the same bed? (photos)

Recently, we had a few postings about cigars and humidors.

Salman said that my dried out Opus X may have had the dreaded diagnosis - "vitola died" - because they were not kept above 65% humidity......

Salman posted pictures of different cigars laid in the same humidor.......

So did Nad..........

I tried to revive the dried out Opus X (see above):

1st: I instituted emergency resuscitation with a sealable container, humidity pads and a cool dark place.

2nd: I bought a wooden box

Unfortunately, it's hygrometer was "unwell" and had to be re-calibrated.

Then, I managed to get the humidity up to 65% after 3 days of "seasoning" of the cedar wood.

I have not decided which cigars will be the MTF "house cigar" so I embark on a taste test.....

By the way, this could be the start of a "Hazing with PuristS" series of articles

My question is this:  Can different cigars from different brands and styles all sit in the same humidor?

Won't they cross-contaminate each other?

Regards,

MTF

First things First...

Congratulations on your first Humidor , hopefully it is airtight sealed so none of that good humidity escapes it

Second, the cigars you have in the aluminium tube and glass tube need to be brought out and kept in the box

Third, don't worry about cigars sitting together, yes the aromas do intermingle in the box but do nothing as far as the potency and individual aromas are concerned, once the cigar is brought out its own aroma comes to the forefront and once you get her going she'll give off all those hidden taste notes individual to her only

I just came back to Dubai and found some hidden gems there at the local Casa Del Habanos store at the Emirates Boulevard Mall, a 2003 Cohiba Double Coronas Box L.E, Partagas Reservas No. 4 and the New Monte-Cristo Reserva No. 4s, as soon as I got off the plane in Kuwait I ran to my cigar dealer to have them stored as I have no place at home for them, time for a bigger humidor maybe????

Thanks for the advice.

Actually the tubes were empty until just before the photo. I placed one cigar in the glass tube just for the photo shoot and immediately emptied the tubes.

MTF, have you given up on the cigars? Or are you resting?

I'm ashamed to say that

my multi-cigar taste test has turned up a coupe of favourites and they are both Dominican.......

So, I'm resting until I'm forgiven by the rabid Habana PuristS.

To change the subject and settle a "discussion" MTF, what is the cover for a plated dish called?
