Dining suggestions for Montreal...

Hi Guys,

I'll be traveling to Montreal in a few months and wondered if anyone had suggestions on great restaurants to visit while I'm there. I checked the search function and it didn't look like there had been any posts about dining in Montreal since roughly 2003, and I presume there may have been some significant changes over the years.

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Dino

Lots of great food in Montreal

but you can't miss a good smoked meat sandwich from Schwatz'shttp://www.schwartzsdeli.com/

and you must try the bagels in Montreal, some say they are nicer than NY bagels. The best in town are St Viateur Bagelhttp://www.stviateurbagel.com/

Don't forget to have poutine, but I'm afraid I left Montreal 16 years ago so I can't really tell you where the good ones are now, you might want to try at Lafleur.

Enjoy your stay in Montreal.....I miss my home town terribly!

I will definitely check out the places that have been mentioned.

Stephano, I will have to try the bagels. Another person recently told me he thinks their bagels are better than what is served in NYC.

Best regards,
Dino
