Canucks' varying success with 2000 world juniors

Matt Pettinger was one of three players who took part in the 2000 world junior championship to be moved at the trade deadline.

Here's a look at the Canucks' success with players from the 2000 tournament:

- G Maxime Ouellet (Canada) -- Acquired from Washington for fifth-round pick in December 2005 (0-2-1, 3.24 GAA); now with Mississippi Sea Wolves (ECHL) after starting season with Salzburg Red Bulls (Austrian Erste Bank Eishockey Liga).

- D Steve McCarthy (Canada) -- Acquired from Chicago in August 2005, for third-round pick (didn't get along with fellow Canucks); now with Atlanta.

- F Tyler Bouck (Canada) -- Acquired in December 2001, from Phoenix with Trevor Letowski and Todd Warriner for Drake Berehowsky and Denis Pederson, up and down from Manitoba; now with Portland Pirates (AHL).

- F Brandon Reid (Canada) -- Drafted 208th overall in 2000, up and down from minors; now with DEG Metro Stars (Deutsche Eishockey Liga).

- D Rene Vydareny (Slovakia) -- Drafted 69th overall in 1999 (couldn't crack NHL lineup); now with Ceske Budejovice HC (Czech league).

- LW Daniel Sedin (Sweden) -- Drafted No. 2 overall in 1999; now Canucks' go-to goal scorer.

- C Henrik Sedin (Sweden) -- Drafted No. 3 overall, 1999; Canucks' single-season assist record holder.
