Millionaires Jerseys Return by Popular Demand
VANCOUVER, BC (February 8, 2009) – The Vancouver Giants (46-5-0-3) will don retro Millionaires Jerseys once again on February 20, 2009 and March 6, 2009 when they face off against the Kelowna Rockets and the Calgary Hitmen.
The Millionaires Jerseys return following the tremendous success of their debut on “Stanley Cup Legends Night,” November 21, 2008. The replica jerseys resemble those worn by Vancouver’s 1915 Stanley Cup Champion Millionaires, the only Vancouver NHL team to bring home the Stanley Cup.
On Friday, February 20, the Giants take on the Kelowna Rockets (31-19-1-2) in a battle between BC Division leaders. Puck drops at 7:30pm. The Giants currently sit first in the BC Division with 28 points over the Kelowna Rockets who hold second place. On February 20, randomly chosen fans will be selected to participate in “Dash for Cash” as $15,000 in coins will be spread across the ice. Contestants will be given 60 seconds to pick up as much as they can.
The Giants will wear the Millionaires Jerseys for the last time this season on Friday, March 6, when they welcome the two millionth fan through the Pacific Coliseum doors. The action packed night begins at 7:30pm when the Giants face off against Eastern Conference rivals, the Calgary Hitmen (46-7-3-1) for the second time this season.
