Was telling my 17 yr old daughter a few weeks ago about her grandpa being an aircraft mechanic in WW2, and all the crazy shit that he did and was ordered to do, Like bury Japanese soldiers in mass graves...and her great uncle, my moms brother, being wounded and getting medals for bravery. She looks at my dad, who is 88 and uncle Ed who is 90 and struggling with alzhiemers, finds it hard to believe this was possible. Need to dig up pictures of them from the 1940's so she can see them as young fighting men they were.
