Building a 68 Triumph (no pics yet)by (Premier Login ripperproductions)Terminator |
Got in a 68 Triumph from another shop where they basically butchered the poor bike. They welded on a bolt-on hardtail (I've done the same, but not like this). I need to cut it off and re-weld it correctly, not to mention re-welding 99.9% of the "work" that was done. This frame looks like Swiss cheese, there are so many holes drilled in it. They removed the small crossover tube from the downtube to the backbone and "welded" on gussets instead. It looks like my 9 year old nephew was let loose with a stick welder. Actually, I take that back, I'm insulting my nephew....
I will post pictures as I go. The whole frame is currently in the blasting booth getting the 30 lbs of body filler removed (I'm not kidding). It will be powdercoated satin black, as will the wheels and most of which is usually chrome. He gave me an Indian Larry tank with the caved in sides, he wants to put a sight glass on the top of the tank (yes, it will work up there on this tank) and paint it Triumph Blue with matte clear, along with the rear fender which is a bobbed trailer fender (no front fender). Not my usual style, but he has cash....
