ESPRIT DE (MARINE) CORPS
NO MORE? (PART II)

Part I of this piece has provoked a firestorm. Marines (and their wives) are writing me about one or another aspect of the problem. This week I want to concentrate on what in my opinion is the black heart of the problem: the fact that the men who control our government are conducting a conspiracy to destroy the Corps and to defeat the united States; and its corollary, the implacable refusal of most Marines to recognize that fact.
Please notice that I said �most� Marines. There are � there are � there are wonderful exceptions and I am getting messages from them. But it is impossible to avoid the fact that most Marines will wriggle like the sportiest fish on a line to avoid that fact; and that aversion could literally contribute decisively to the destruction of our country.
Why do most Marines do that? I can isolate two reasons. There may be more. First is the ingrained writ that civilian control of the military is supreme. Every American for generations has imbibed this sacrosanct belief at his mother�s breast. And this holy principle is one of the best things about America. It must be preserved. Banana republics without it constantly suffer military coups that make them banana republics, in which the president changes week to week. In our country we are supposed to have rule by Constitution, not by coup.
But there is a dangerous corollary to the sacred principle of civilian control. In the beginning, there was no standing national army. The Founding Fathers were especially hostile to the idea because they had just fought and defeated an oppressive one. That is why the Constitution gives money to the military for only two years. There were state militaries. Remember that in Lincoln�s Communist War of Northern Atrocities military units were designated by state.
For that reason, at that time, there truly was civilian control of the military, much more at least than there is today. The military was closer to the people who ran it. Today, the civilians who run the national standing army are people like military genius Donny Rumsfeld, el presidente de la rep�blica Smirk W. Boosh and, recently, Generalissimo Maximo Antonio Snow (Job).
The dangerous corollary I speak of trains our Marines (and such ancillary services as the Army, Navy and Air Farce) to believe that these civilians (the king) can do no wrong; that when they issue an order it must be blindly obeyed (despite the admonitions of the UCMJ to the contrary); that the government is God walking the earth. I do not need to elucidate the danger in this belief. For amplification, see my recent piece on Romans 13.
The other explanation for the typical Marine�s (devil) dogged refusal to see what is there may also be a fear that to recognize it would also be to negate the glorious history of the Corps. Most Marines know that Major General Smedley Butler is a Marine hero, winner of not one, but two Medals of Honor. Most Marines do not know that Butler is the author of War Is a Racket. Could there be a fear in the breast of those Marines that if war is a racket, it would tarnish their incredible wartime feats?
So they try to escape and evade. By now, the situation in the country has gotten so bad, they grudgingly admit something is wrong, but they won�t name it. They won�t identify the stench under their nose. They strenuously defend the Marines accused in Haditha, the truth about which is now oozing out � namely, that the accused are victims, not perpetrators � but they struggle manfully to avoid the revealing question of why those Marines could be accused in the first place.
Let me respectfully suggest a different interpretation. I believe that the supreme sacrifice � the heroism � of the historic Marines not only has not been tarnished by the treason that made it possible; but in fact that it is even more sublime than it would have been without the treason, because their heroism had to overcome it; because they did what they did in spite of it.
On Guadalcanal, when all the other Marines were dead or seriously wounded, the last one who still could fight ran from gun to gun, laying down such withering fire that the attacking Japanese thought they faced a large unit. They did. Its name was Mitchell Paige, Medal of Honor. Could anything, any treason, tarnish the sublime heroism that put Platoon Sergeant Mitchell Paige everlastingly with the Immortals? I think not. Col. Paige died in November, 2003, but he still lives.

In Korea, U.S. Army Captain Lew Millett led the last bayonet charge in U.S. military history. The official citation for his Medal of Honor says �that the 1st Platoon was pinned down by small-arms, automatic, and antitank fire. Captain Millett ordered the 3d Platoon forward, placed himself at the head of the two platoons, and, with fixed bayonet, led the assault up the fire-swept hill. In the fierce charge Capt. Millett bayoneted two enemy soldiers and boldly continued on, throwing grenades, clubbing and bayoneting the enemy, while urging his men forward by shouting encouragement.
�Despite vicious opposing fire, the whirlwind hand-to-hand assault carried to the crest of the hill. His dauntless leadership and personal courage so inspired his men that they stormed into the hostile position and used their bayonets with such lethal effect that the enemy fled in wild disorder.�
Yes, Colonel Millett believes in killing. That is what you do in war, or die. In fact, at a press conference, a training-bra reporter once asked Lew how many he had killed, presumably intending to embarrass him. Judicious to a fault, but typically irrepressible, he replied, �I don�t know. And I�m not done yet.� Lew Millett and I became good friends.
Treason was the reason for the war, but Lew�s stainless heroism puts him too with the Immortals. Nothing, no treason, can do anything to change that. The government that defeated us � in Washington, not Pyongyang � wanted Lew to �take a star� (become a general). He refused, because of the treason that defeated us and typically abandoned thousands of our men he spent years trying to bring home as head of Project Freedom.
What is the truth our Marines � the best of the best � will do everything to avoid? Captain Sigsbee of the Maine later said that battleship sank in 1898 not because of Spanish attack but because of an accidental explosion aboard. But the already gargantuan government bequeathed by Lincoln�s Communist destruction of the federal union seized the opportunity to launch the war, which in no way diminishes the happy few, the band of brothers, who rode with Teddy up San Juan Hill.
The civilians in command of the military conspired to trick us into World War I, while Woodrow Wilson swore up and down that he was doing everything to keep us out, even ran for reelection on the plank, �He Kept Us Out of War.� They arranged the sinking of the Lusitania, which killed many, because they needed a reason to trick us into it. I have explained what happened there in other pieces. Their goal was a world government. Does the murderous treason they committed tarnish the Fighting 69th? I think not.
For years after Pearl Harbor, Socialist Franklin Roosevelt�s defenders maintained he had nothing to do with it. By now, the fact that he arranged the whole thing is so transparent, has been so well proved, that his defenders now say the opposite: Yes, he did it. He had to do it, they say, because the ferociously anti-war American people were too stupid to know that they needed to be in the war for their own good. The purpose again was to install the framework of world government the traitors had failed to erect 25 years before.
Could anything Roosevelt did � treason, mass murder, not only saving the Soviets but also giving them control of central Europe, abandoning 25,000 of our POWs, and on and on and on � could anything the monster did eclipse the five, yes, five Navy Crosses awarded the Immortal Chesty? You know the answer.
In Korea, the traitors who already ran our government tricked us into a war under the UN, conceived by Communists, founded by Communists and always run by Communists for Communist purposes. I have explained that trick elsewhere. The man running �our� side of the war was UN Undersecretary for Political and Security Council Affairs Konstantin E. Zinchenko. Guess where Comrade Konstantin came from. A free bowl of borscht if you are right.
That is why General Douglas Macarthur complained that the enemy knew all his plans, almost as soon as they issued from his fertile brain. Could anyone dare assert that this sickening treason diminished the Inchon Landing, one of the greatest military operations in the history of warfare? Some call it the greatest. Later, the traitors fired Macarthur, in fear that he might wipe out Mao�s army as he had wiped out North Korea�s.
Admiral James Stockdale � Medal of Honor � was flying a mission in the Gulf of Tonkin the night of the so-called �incident� that propelled us into the War in Vietnam. He was there and he said nothing happened. There was no �incident.� Whom do you believe? Lyndon Johnson and his fellow sidewinders?
I believe the admiral. And if you have a suicide complex, why not walk into a Marine reunion and announce that traitors in the District of Criminals tricked us into war yet again in their quest for world government, and that this cancels the Marine triumphs at Tet and Khe Sanh. I don�t think so.
The same treasonous bastards tricked us into Gulf War I. Remember April Glaspie? Just as traitor Dean Acheson helped trick us into the War in Korea by announcing that the peninsula was �outside our defense perimeter,� so, now, U.S. Ambassador Glaspie reassured Saddam that Washington would take no offense were he to reclaim Kuwait. Of course, the story about Iraqis throwing incubator babies in a Kuwaiti hospital on the floor to die was a fabrication concocted by Kuwait and disseminated by our whorish Communist media.
Which brings us to the present fiasco. What do we know? We know that typically the Smirk W. Boosh Administration lied us into the war. Approaching four years of war, Boosh still can�t decide why he put us into it. In every war, a twelve-year-old at the time can tell you the cause � the Maine, the Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, etc. � except this one.
As in Vietnam, he is refusing to let our magnificent military win. The Marines are not a social service. The Corps is not a philanthropic group. In the commissary at Pendleton, a tee shirt is for sale, on which it says in bold something like: �The U.S. Marine Corps: When It Must Be Totally Destroyed Overnight.� That is what you send in the Marines to do. They kill everyone and destroy everything. Marines do not occupy ground. That is what the Army does. In Iraq, the basic mission of the Marines has been corrupted.
El presidente Boosh is attacking our Marines from the rear. This latest assault is merely the latest. Remember Lieutenant Ilario Pantano? Boosh is conducting the present invasion of our country; we know that because he could stop it at once but he does not. He encourages it, faintly protesting that he is against it. He is playing stupid games with the Border Patrol.
In fact, we know he is dismantling our country. On March 23, 2005, he met at the Crawford rancho with el presidente Fox of Mexico and with then Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin. They introduced something called the SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership), also called the North American Union. They announced that henceforth there would be no borders between the three countries.
Instead, they said, the border would be around them. In almost as many words, Boosh was announcing the abolition of these united States. As I write, secret working groups are planning the implementation of this scheme in every aspect of your daily life. The scheme will even include a single currency called the Amero.
That is why, despite the desperate, united pleading of the people for relief, Boosh has done nothing to stop the invasion. He has �solved� the illegal alien problem by abolishing the borders; they no longer exist. I call this treason. Don�t you? Add up the facts. When did you vote to abolish this country?
Marines! This is what you need to know. You are looking in the wrong place. You need to look the traitor in the face. What must you do? How far will you let these treasonous bastards go? Will you stand by, even defending them, while they complete the destruction of the nation�s independence? Never! Such suicidal neutrality would be unthinkable to a Marine.
Word now arrives that whenever our combat troops in Iraq fire their weapons, they must also file a report justifying what they did. Could you get any crazier than that? A report? In combat? The longer you wait to act, the more Marines will be maimed and killed because they are afraid to defend themselves; afraid that, if they are accused of killing enemy, their parents will have to hock the house to pay the lawyers. The generals are too busy politicking for more stars. As it is always, this thing is up to you, the grunts, the gunnies, the platoon sergeants, the gyrenes. You know who you are.
You already are organized. Now you must saddle up. I am not � not � not calling for a coup. A coup would do the Communists� work. They would love nothing better. It would complete the Boosh revolution. It would destroy the system we are trying to defend. A coup would be absolutely the worst and the stupidest thing we could possibly do.
What I call upon you to do is to face the traitor and name him, to identify the conspirators and the conspiracy for world government. If you will take this monumental, this decisive step, everything that needs to happen will happen and it will be much more effective than a mere coup. Remember, we are not talking about politics, about Democruds and Republicruds. The situation has degenerated far beyond politics.
When you do what you must, the politics will happen all by itself. There will be a firestorm of hostility from the top. You will be as astounded as George Washington was when he wrote to his friend Lafayette that reform of the nation�s currency � abolition of paper �money� � solved so many problems like divorce, crime, drunkenness and unemployment that Washington had no idea were related.
Most of you are not used to this kind of war. I am. If these two articles are not enough, I would be happy to explain it in person. If you can get together enough veterans and their wives to make a respectable audience, I would come if you want me and tell it to the Marines. You don�t need to pay me anything.
My reward will be the telling. You only need to fly me from Houston and back. All we need is an evening. I will do this only for Marines, but if a few misguided types from the other services sneak in, I won�t trouble them, as long as they are properly respectful of the nation�s most important military force.
