Robin called me from prison (where she works) 18 days ago to tell me the guys (inmates) had caught the kitten that was hanging around, with its mother, outside the kitchen. She asked me to bring a cat carrier and pick it up and said I could call the shelter. Yeah right!!! I went to the grocery store and bought kitten chow (lol).
It was approx 6 wks old and has markings like a siamese (although mama kitty is not siamese). She is adorable. We named her Ella. She is so much fun. Its been a few years since we've had a kitten. She settled in quite quickly.
I had to take her to the vet because her tummy was so hard (worms) and she had a weepy eye and sneezes (upper resp. infection). And of course she needed to be tested for a feline leukemia and a couple other things. $147.00 later I realized that I could have taken her to the shelter and they would have taken her to the vet. I could have adopted her later for $20.00. But we would have missed all her cuteness in the meantime. We are such suckers!!!
Our mini zoo now includes Brutus (10 yr old Chow), Harley (4 yr old pom), Cocoa (3 yr old lab), Jazz, Grace, Olivia, Nancy, Joone, Ella (cats ranging from almost 7 yrs to approx. 9 wks), and Hope ( a guinea pig).

You do - come on into the 21st century - the technology's fine! I'm feeling all self-righteous, because I'm at the tail end of scanning, cropping, editing, annotating and uploading 1500 photos from old albums. What a job!
