Do you know of a program that lets one surf the net without leaving traces on the sites where they surfed? For example, not leaving your isp info on a sites counter/tracker?

Its been along time sence I had played with programs to hide your tracks, I can't even think of them of the top of my head. Have a look at Ano nymouser's.

If it is only counter/tracker , banner/advertizing and such sites you want to hide your Id info from, if you use IE you can use your Restricted Sites zone. Here is a site with and about Restricted Sites List.

I personally use the host file with currently 28,751 sites completely blocked from my pc with an app called SpyBlocker.

Gotta go, gotta take my boy out now

Do you know if there is html that can be added to a site to prevent web crawlers from viewing the site? Something that will prevent a site from showing up on serch engines?

I'm selling my computer and going back to reading books. I know what to expect from books.

Or perhaps I will dye my hair black and take a computer class....

testing...

These are sponsored keywords: anti-virus software, update and windows xp

Hi Blondie

1. If you have your own top level domain you can use a file called "Robots.txt" which search engine spiders always look for 1st when crawling tho sites, its a text file where you can allow or disallow spiders from entering any sub domains or from logging selected pages and even ban selected search engine spiders from crawling your site.

2. Using the robots meta tag in your header of all your pages, tho its now ignored by few (or alot) of search engines as of a few years ago (if I remember correctly) but its a tag I have and will always will use and does seem to work (not 100%) with the many search engines I've crawled to checked where I am and what pages and images they have from my sites.
