Just read the posts...

Phill, I am so sorry to hear that you had a cpu muck up... but glad to hear that you were able to recover all files. When mine crashed 2 years ago they tryed to recover but the crash did it in, but my son's cpu that crashed the same day was recoverable...not that there were anything files on there but games... LOL

If there is anything that I can do for you or help with please let me know. when you get the website up again I will do a copy here on the puter and also store it on my host...so there will be back up here for you.

Sorry that 2005 is turning out to be such a bugger for you. hope you recover soon... My prayers are going your way.

Cindy

p.s. if you can find some one that has been to your site before it went down they may have the site on their puter. You might ask around but make sure that you tell them NOT TO try to go to the site now or it will erase the old one.... I have a friend that lost a webpage and she recovered it that way... I am searching my puter for the last time I went to your site....hoping that I have the old site on board.

Phill, I am glad that you got everything back

and sure can understand why you would not want to work on the website....

do you remember how many MG you whole website took up?

Remember http://hostinginsider.com has full features with 500mg of space for 3.00 a month and it can be paid monthly or yearly. A whole year is under 35.00
and they will give you your domine name and transfer it for free and pay the yearly domain name fee for as long as you have your site on their server. So al you pay is the monthly fee for the hosting.

Might be time to check into that. At least it would not disapear...

also: have you heard of GMAIL....? it is from google and has 1000mg of space and only a once pre 9 month check in. It is all the rage. But not public yet.

Anyway if you want to get GMAIL post here with a time and date that you will be on line and here and I will post an invite...here...

e-mailed Ed about this but have not heard a peep out of her...??/

Phil & Cindy - FYI

January 30 2005, 1:20 AM

Ciny: Uptdated the SmiliesExampleForum this moment to fix the DOM-script.

Phil: got at last the other script working, too. The one with createRange and such.. the Formates are now to be put somewhere within the text (not only at the end), and it put html-tags to highlighted text... Presently to be seen at the RaumschiffTitanic forum ( http://www.network54.com/Forum/261248 ) for the formats: hr/b/i/s/center/list/ul/and the smilies which appears on the postPage.

Well, let's say I finally found time (and a suiting script to modify) to go into this. (Should have been done long ago). Now I have to find out if the graphics are preloaded in the background when entering the site?!?

Smilies in the left-slider-menu

January 30 2005, 8:36 PM

well - no problem.

this too is easy to do:

I just put the function after *endMenu();*

and the smilies text to a addHdr -line :

addHdr(' sad ')

That's it.

to be seen for a short while at Forum/261248

ED... yipee....great.

February 2 2005, 12:24 PM

that is fantastic....so when are you going to post the Script on your page...LOL

One problem with the slide menu that I had to fight with...

If you have a long one that goes past the bottom of the page
you need to stick it....not let it float or you will never get to the bottom,
also you need to make the closure longer so that you can scroll down and read the rest of the menu. I did this on my page: http://blackkats4.com/waterfowlforummenuthanksgiving2004.html

when you click on the menu it will stay out long enough for you to go to the scroll bar and scroll down. Just thought you s hould know. BTW i use Ifram to insert the menus into a page.

Thanks so very much.... now I can't wait to give it a go....
New project: get Phill's wysiwyg script into the slider....LOL and get the sliding menu to only appear on the p ost page.... Phill...

Just kidding....the thought was just running around in my head. A slider menu to contain the wysiwyg and the emoticons... all in one. but then you could not input it as an Iframe...LOL something to think of for the year....

a wysiwyg emoticon sliding menu that you can take with you from site to site....

Wow what a concept....Wish I knew more about Java and that end of coding...Maybe this year.

Again thanks...will give it a sp in and then p ost an example page for you.
