Elisha Williams with his wife Zeralda Scott are in the 1850 census of Trimble Co. Mine is the Scott line. I know that Elisha Williams is related by marriage, but I do not know from which Scott line Zeralda is from. I also believe that Zeralda died within a few years of her last child, Elisha, being born, about 1856. I can find no proof, except, that Elisha Williams may have had a second marriage to a Nancy Tingle, and a few more children. I hope someone can help.
Thank you,
Lynn Scott-Ponder

I can't give you any Scott information but I can give you more information on the Williams line.

Elisha Williams was married twice. By his first wife, Zerelda Scott whom he married 19 May 1834 in Gallatin Co., Ky., he had (1) Jane Elizabeth, (2) William Samuel, (3)George W., (4) Artemesia, (5) Thomas Lillburn, & (6) Elisha Stratton, born 25 April 1856. Zerelda was listed with Elisha in the 1860 Trimble County Census, so she must have died 1860-1867. (Unfortunately, I do no know who Zerelda's parents were.)

Elisha married his second wife, Nancy Ann Tingle, on 28 January 1868 Trimble Co. She was born August 1839 in Carroll Co., Ky., to Nancy Skidmore and Charles Tingle and died 12 August 1906 Eminence, Henry Co., Ky. (She first married John Tingle, then Elisha Williams, and then David Piles.) Elisha and Nancy had four more children: (7) Louwella, (8) Mattie Jane (Feb. 7, 1872 - Aug 29, 1938) who married January 13, 1887 Trimble Co., William Newton Johnson (They are my ancestors), (9) Johnnie, and (10) Cora.

I hope this helps to clarify that Elisha Williams was indeed married twice.

I don't know anything about the other names but my father is a Handlon. His grandparents were Virgil and Kizzy Calloway Handlon. His greatgrandparents were Benjamin Frank and Mary Mahoney Calloway. I have a few more generations back to 1776 in Maryland.
