Dragon Boat Israel

Israel held its first ever Dragon Boat Festival last week May 17th and May 18th. http://www.dragonboatisrael.com/ Canadian teams went to compete and help coach and steer the boats over the 2 days. The excitement and enthusiasm for this new sport in Israel was infectious. Few paddlers were experienced;one brought her dog, another wouldn't take her handbag off her shoulder, a whole team came dressed in their period dress and dance outfits (they also flipped their Champion boat); but all had a great time.

Dragon Boating in the Middle East was born on the Sea of Galilee last week. It will be exciting to watch it grow and hopefully compete against a much stronger and experienced Israel regatta in the coming years.
