Impressions of Gong Kong

Just back from Hong Kong and the "World's" - ha ha
If it weren't for my vacation afterwards I would be mad as hell - wait I am mad as hell!

Canadian teams have been blindly supporting the World Championships time and time again. Only to be disappointed with sub-standard events.

Without the Canadian teams the past few "World's" would only be small regional events. This has nothing to do with talent or quality of competition.

Here in Canada DBC places a ton or rules and regulations on rosters and who and what club or coach will be placed in charge of crew selections, then we arrive and it is a disaster.

It was clear that when Gong Kong was given the championships there would be challenges for many crews given the known conditions of the harbour; but did the powers that be realize that the organization in Gong Kong was going to screw up so badly? Who allows this to happen? And who needs to take some responsibility for it.

DBC please step up to protect and foster the interests of Canadian teams that want to go and compete, we want to travel and experience what DB racing should be at the highest level. Make a statement that you the governing body of the sport here has influence and wants to be heard. Otherwise just say it is not going to happen and the DB community here in Canada,(and likely in the U.S.A.),can make other plans.
