boat repair and winter storage.April 10 2005 at 12:42 AM | Anonymous |
| - Any suggestions on how to investigate, repair an apparent separation of GWN dragon boat foot brace (at the bulk head) from the hull? I can see a clear separation inside the boat, but I don't think there is a leak.
How do most of you store boats during the cold winter months? Most motor boats are kept outside and drydocked during the winter, what's the best way to keep a dragon boat when indoor storage is not available? |

Ask a marina supply shop like Oakville Yacht Outfitters or Smithcraft in Mississauga. They have the epoxies and repair kits and can advise what to do.
For outside storage in the winter....at least turn it upside down and put a tarp around it. |

Don't put a tarp around it. It needs circulation to stay dry and keep condensation away. Just flip it over and wash/wax the hull before the winter. Apply an anti-foul bottom coat if you want to avoid all the crap that grows on the hull if it is kept in the water all season. As for the footboard, work some epoxy paste underneath the footboard where it has separated from the hull and then create a nice thick fillet around the area. | |
