It's so hard to keep up with the forum from Duisburg, but I hear that Milton was a great regatta and that GM is stacking the crew for Pickering. I couldn't believe it when Dittmer asked me if I was racing with him in Pickering!

Thanks for a fun race

I could be wrong, and I don't have full info, but for the 500m, I believe the final results were:
1: X-pads
2: Jetstart
3: Smoke on the Water
The race was a HUGE improvement over last year - too bad more teams didn't come out. The gates were open on time, meaning there was no delay on getting into the park and no delay in starting the racing. The races ran on schedule. The starts were proper (attention please - cannon, not 3-2-1-go) and no cheating (i.e. jumping the start) was tolerated. Full thanks for listening to the paddlers, and responding to complaints. It was a lot of fun.

X-Pads?

Results are posted - winner was PDBC Elite Collective. There was a team registered as X-paddling Collective in B division.

So did the X-Pads get bled white for the new 'elite' crew? Anyone have details who actually knows what happened in Pickering over the offseason?

results are only 1/2 the story

I would agree with the other postings regarding the quality of the race this year.

Great paddles, clean lifejackets, a cannon to start the races, fair lanes, good quality boats, friendly atmosphere and solid orgainzation. On the downside they could use about 5 more dock handlers for the boats, and where the heck did the beer tent go when the rain started???

Looks like Milton may be one of the events to jump start the souther-Ontario season. Would be great to see more teams join in next year.

Congrats to Smoke and P&G... you guys rock!
