| anyone know much about this paddle, or use it? why is it so inexpensive compared to other carbon paddles? is it less carbon and more filler? please advise. |

you might be refering to the new Apex paddle for $55??
They are cheap because the blade is made of plastic, the shaft is a low grade carbon composite, and a wooden t-grip. Weights about the same as a high performace wood Grey Owl paddle. Probably more durable than the wood as it does fray after long use. And you can replace any of the parts (blade, shaft, or grip) if one of them is damaged. |

During a regatta this weekend, the entire blade snapped off during a race. Not very impressed. | |
