It is unfortunate that this parade again falls on Father's Day, when many people have made previous and competing plans. That said, hopefully there will be a good turn out!

There wasn't a dragon boat forum 15 years ago ... thanks for the remark. And, just to be particular, it hasn't always fallen on Father's Day.

If fathers day is the issue, and if you are brave enough, bring you dad to the parade!

I've been told there is about 10 teams going, but we need more!

For those who have ever gone, it's actually not that bad, and can be fun as long as you keep an open mind. Many teams do this as part of their way of giving back to their sponsors. They come out dressed in their team uniforms and basically parade down the streets waving to thousands of people. It's good PR for your sponsor (if you have one) and an opportunity to win prizes as well for your team. It can be a good team builder and starts early enough in the morning that you can get home in time for a nice afternoon/evening meal with Dad.

Keep an open mind guys, and try to keep a positive outlook in life guys. Not everything that can be said is worth saying. Or maybe your dad never taught you that if you have nothing good to say, best not to say it at all.
