It's posted on their website.
Events Alive, Seniors, Team Chiro, Wong's Slayers, Verdun in that order. Events Alive about 3 seconds ahead of anyone else. Similar competition at the top to the Island.
Was it a 2 day event? If so, what were the results?

Info On Results

Hi Toronto,
I am the ED for the Festival. The results will not be online until tomorrow because we have an exclusivity deal with the Ottawa Citizen newspaper for the Sunday Results to be printed Monday. They produce a full page colour for us so we agree not to post the results online so people buy the paper in the morning. I knew you would be wondering why they are not posted so I thought I would nip it in the bud. Hope you all had a nice weekend. Our staff is happy that you joined us and look forward to hearing how we can improve.
Kind Regards,
John

I'd actually support more festivals withholding the results from their website for a day (what's one day?) if they could get full page colour coverage in a major local paper. It's an eye-opener for those not in the event, and a decent keepsake for first timers who came out and had a great time.

Sounds like there was a decent turnout. I heard they had hardware (medals) for every division - not bad!
happy camper
Beat this!
June 28 2005, 11:26 AM
Not only did Ottawa provide medals to all categories (including the men's div. which was an exhibition i.e. no cost race), they have great pots...all drinkers. The Championship race has trophies for the top three spots.
And now beat this...the Festival's beer sponsor (Labatt's)filled up the cups for free for the winning teams!
Ottawa's the best!

Y'all should go to Edmonton. every single team got (good) medals, and the cups were filled with champagne. Sweet!
Plus, it's wild west - no lanes!

This was my teams first trip to Ottawa, and we were very impressed.
They gave out great hardware (trophies and medals to the top three in all three divisions).
It was one of the better venues we have raced at. The lanes were very fair. You could watch races while swimming at the beach. They were very effecient in moving you through the staging area.
They had almost up to the minute results from each race, and your ranking on their plasma screens.
The 100m sprint final was great to watch, which had the top 10 teams based on Saturdays races going head to head.
If they get more out of town teams coming they will need to revisit their racing format. The top 60 teams moved on to race on Sunday, and were split into the top and bottom 30.
Of the top 30 the top 24 teams from your Sunday am race would go on the the Sunday afternoon final races (3 divisions of 8 boats). The top eight from the bottom 30 would also go on to a "fun final" race.
It worked ok, but I know a few out of town teams only had one race on the sunday.

I was at the Ottawa event for the first time this year and I can confidently tell you it is the most diverse and well organized Dragon Boat Festival I have ever seen. It is bizarre that more people do not know about this event. Cudos to the organizers.

I dont think it is the experts blowing the Mofo Horn. I think they are MoFo's blowing themselves.
