Dragon boat is a sport that doesn't require its participants to bring anything more than themselves and perhaps a dry change of clothing. That said many of us buy equipment and accessories to help us perform well (and look good while paddling). Some of the things that I see in my boat include:

- High tech paddles
- Fancy butt pads (but not too thick, LOL)
- Sport specific clothing (rashguards, padded shorts, etc)
- Gloves, paddling mitts/pogies
- PFD's
- Paddling shoes/footwear
- Water repelling sunglasses

I like wearing tight clothing and dishgloves. I feel that the yellow brings out the colour of my eyes.

I try to match the person sitting beside me...sometimes we'll decide a few practices ahead of time what we'll wear. This spring, tight white shirts and black spandex with our red lifejackets were the thing.

For early and late season training, as the water thaws, I find the pogies are really useful for keeping hands warm. Nay scratch that. Essential for keeping hands warm.

I wear rose co;oured goggles. Not only do they keep my eyes protected from those nasty microbes but the coach tells me I am always so positive and cute when I wear them. I like my coach especially when he wears his dishgloves when steering with that rough oar.

Rose coloured glasses? By any chance are you a member of Riptide?

It took an oveseas trip but I finally got the peefect flip flops to show off my manicured toes. Very jaunty!

I don't see anything wrong with trying to look good in the boat. Afterall, as a single person, you never know when you're going to meet Mr. or Ms. Right!

Dry bag, good for keeping my compact in for touch ups.
