I am getting sick and tired of rowers barking at us paddlers (dragon boat as well as canoe and kayaks) for causing any kind of inconvenience in their work outs. I respect the sport and understand why we are the ones that need to get out of their way. What I don't respect and don't understand is why they fail to acknowledge that we are all trying to do our best to share our crowded waterways.
The very rare occasions were I or people I paddle with have been caught briefly obstructing a rower are usually situation driven. I.e. the sun reflecting off the water obscuring a boat, a number of boats converging on a single point etc… In all these situations it is the paddlers that struggle to get out to the rowers way and interrupt their piece and yet we still get verbally abused for our troubles.
