Fiberglass albatross for sale. Excellent condition. One season paddled in it well maintained and protected from UV. An excellent boat for dragon boaters or novice outrigger paddlers. Perfect for time trail training as it rigs on both the right and left sides you can practise your dragonboat technique without fear of tipping over. Handles 4-5' waves easily. Very difficult to tip in the flats.
I live in Whitby and anyone interested can drop me a line and take it out for a paddle.
The boat is fiberglass so it is a little heavier than the kevlar models, but it is not significantly slower on the water. I've beaten Hurricanes (another model of OC-1)in it. Tiller steering (the bar not the pedals)allows the boat to be fully adjustable to paddlers of different heights and lets you push with your whole foot and really get your lower body into the stroke. Tiller steering is not that hard a skill to master.
Price is the big feature here. The base model boat goes for $2600.00+tax. If you are handy to the GTA you can have the boat in your driveway for $2200.00. It comes with Ama carriers(reg. $120) which makes it handy to transport. If you are currently practising at the Lakeshore you can get a membership to the Toronto Outrigger Club and keep it at the club so it will be pretty handy. The cockpit will keep you dry in the spring and fall months so it will definately extend your paddling season.
Reply if you are interested. I'm looking to move the boat quickly.
Not really when you actually look around .On the cora website there is a carbon oc1 for $2200 its pale yellow w/ graphics ways 21 lbs and is 21 feet in length ,thats a better deal.
Most glass used boats are around the $1500 mark and there is also a fibreglass oc1 in excellent condition on the cora msg board for $1500 obo and some older posts frm $300 ( for a beat club boat ) to an avg of $1500
The was a demo HUKI for sale at ocean river in BC for $2800 and its a glass/carbon mix and hasn't got a mark on it
There is also a Hurricane for sale on the westcoast ,another demo w/ lots of options for $3200 obo .
You just need to look around
Sorry your oc1 is priced a little on the high side

Okay and how much to ship a west coast boat to Toronto ?
Quite honestly the price is probably on the fair side. Sure there may be other used crafts on the market more so on the west coast as they have been in existence longer out there. I have seen this boat and it's in great shape... in fact you are saving on having to pay taxes and shipping

I would like to thank someone (who is obviously a member of the Toronto Outrigger Club)for their support, but I don't think it is necessary. Outrigger Paddler I think it is enough for me to know that you are not interested in the boat. Since the price and boat type is in the subject I'm not entirely sure why you bothered to read the message.
Anyways unless I have met you before and you have seen this boat your comments are nothing but speculation. Feel free to post as often as you want but I fail to see the point of your post. Do you routienly argue with people that you do not know when you have no idea what you are talking about?
I'm quite new to this forum and if this is typical of posts then chalk it up to me being a newbie.

This is the nature of the forum. Anyone can say anything and they do because posts do not require e-mail registration and are anonymous. Everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
First and formost I will not buy any boat that I can not see the condition of and paddle for feel. I learned that lesson hard and fast in the past. If OC paddler wants to ship a boat from the West Coast that will not be supported by anyone locally (the Albatross is supported by KayakSport Canada locally in TO) then let that person assume that risk.
