CCWC 2006 - Canadian crewsd with some promiseSeptember 26 2005 at 10:47 AM | WTF |
| Ok, with all the race-offs now done, it looks like Canada will have a legitimate shot at some medals next summer. Right now, I don't really care about the whole "real club crew" argument. It's over, let it go. Right now, I just want to see all the Canadian crews do well.
We look strongest in the mixed division (of course), with G&G leading the way. But all the mixed crews are strong enough to compete for the top spots.
In the open category, I think there's some work to be done. While FCRCC might be strong, GWN & Montreal both need to do some real practicing together as crews.
In the womens division, Montreal women should contend. I think the GWN women aren't quite there yet
Seniors category should be strong for us as well. I can't see any of those senior crews loosing to anyone but another Canadian team. |

I think you missed one of the Open Premier Entries, Scotia - Rouge is a combination of G&G and Scotia-Rouge, probably as good as it gets with only 2PP's, if they open the PP Rule this team might even be able to take a shot at Shtorm from Russia(also known as the Russian National Mens Team) |

No worries about the pp rule as G&G has a ton of excellent flatties and S-R has the 2pp's.They will be good. |

Did they race off in Montreal, or was a spot awarded via acclamation? |

ScotiaRouge Open entry is a combination of ScotiaRouge and G&G paddlers that won the spot by acclamation.

Does this mean Roli senior crew from out west gets the last seniors spot or was there another seniors crew out east that has a chance as well ? |

Now that the teams are set, I think it would be a good idea for next spring that Open division CCWC teams in their various regions start doing some practices together. Open racing doesn't get a lot of play a festivals here in the east, so if we got the local Open team entries to work out side-by-side next spring we could all benefit. Include the Premiere and Senior teams in this. |

Why does everyone forget about the Junior teams representing these events? |

Well now, lets see how this has played out: Scotia Rouge .... maybe, maybe not. Montreal men ....doubtful.....GWN men....oh, you mean Jamaica mon right?....not a chance.....GWN women..now the OHDBC women ....Montreal and FCRCC will both smoke'em.... G & G ....some practicing would help...remember Pickering last year? Oh and by the way partying at Gary's cottage really doesn't count! |

your right, I'm really thinking West Rouge Canoe Club has a really good chance to do really good, they did win NTT last year for juniors. |

If I recall the juniors only won the 500 by .1 of a second and lost the 200 to a rapidly assembled pdbc junior team....lets not forget belleville as well |

They won though, didn't they. I love it when losers start throwing stuff out like "we lost only by .1 second" or something stupid like that to make themselves feel better. |

It still doesn't matter even though they are LOSERS they still have beaten Rouge more than once after that and they still supposedly go on about NTT's last year. Wow thats halarious. |

I would like to add to the comment someone made earlier about the whining part. Supposedly the worst to do this in the sport is Dan Evaln's crew. Is that the team that lost in NTT's last year? |

What actually is hilarious is how supposed adults have now resorted to trashing Junior crews. Pickering and Rouge have had a strong rivarly for a few years with both team beating the other on different occasions. Both teams have also done there share of whining. Moving on... | |
