is there any link to the actual IDBF Boat license scheme (Specs) out there, i found only the EDBF Boat Specs on the web

The new IDBF site is still being updated. The EDBF site is also being updated so the latest versions of the specs are momentarily unavailable. The spec will be posted (not full spec, mfgrs must contact IDBF for details). By the way, the EDBF and IDBF spec are the same.
