The West Rouge Canoe Club would like to invite teams to consider using our boats and facilities for the upcoming 2006 season.
Located on the South-East corner of Frenchman’s Bay, our facility offers ample parking and private changing rooms, equipped with lockers. All equipment, including paddles and lifejackets, will be supplied. Due to the nature of our club, you will also have the opportunity to cross-train in sprint canoes and kayaks, giving you an edge up on your competition by improving your dragonboat technique and teaching you to find a better connection with the water. Please review our packages below and call 416-283-3361 or e-mail dragonboat@westrougecc.org with any further questions or to book your practice times. We are also happy to customize packages specifically for your team!
These packages include boat rental and one flatwater boat trial with professional instruction for interested members of your crew.
2006 Seasonal Package - $2000 + GST
This package includes boat rental, two flatwater boat trials with professional instruction, one complimentary video session, and unlimited practice times from May-September (schedule permitting).
Who are your coaches at West Rouge and what do you charge for them?

So a team could order one practice for $75+gst and get a free flatwater boat trial + instruction for 20+ people?

We have many qualified and experienced coaches at the Rouge from both flatwater and dragonboat backgrounds. Coaches charge anywhere from $30 to $100/practice, depending on their experience and so on.
If you only rent the boat for one practice, we would still be willing to provide a flatwater instructional trial.

That must be some coach.

Dragonboat will never progress beyond the traditional silo structure with which expertise is distributed.
$100/hr?
I wonder how many developing athletes can afford that.
It's like personal training - one big farce.

Check your own

Maybe you should check how much your own coach is making. It might be surprising. Besides, it says $30-$100. Somewhere in there you should be able to find something that meets your budget. Not surprising that you forumites take one part of something and turn it into something negative.

Not surprising at all.
And since when where DBers considered "developing athletes"?
Many out there are in fact weekend warriors with a nice disposable income to support their addiction.

Why do you care who makes $100 a practice? Do you really expect an answer to a question like that on this forum?
They left their email address. Use it. Better yet, call them.
Oh, what is your name and how much do you make? Address and phone number as well please.

think about it $100 per hour, 20 padlers = 5 dollars per person, that isnt bad at all, and by my experience all the coaches ar WRCC are amazing, you better watch out for the WRCC team in a year or 2, they are going to be making a lot of noise
