This is a dragon boat forum. Take that stuff somewhere else.

Sure this is a dragonboat forum, but we should recognize the excellence and achievement of our fellow paddlers. I've had the fortune to paddle with some of these guys and they are great people and I am happy for their success.

Lest we forget, we talked about hockey on this forum a little while ago too.

Why?

I posted this news because I feel it IS dragon boat related . Yes, the results are from canoe and kayak, but most of the paddlers it mentions have been part of successful national dragon boat team efforts for Canada and are a source of national pride in either discipline; sprint or dragon boat.

I'm sure I was among many dragon boat paddlers who watched Adam, Atilla, Tomas and Carrie (as well as others) with great interest and support when they competed at the last Olympics.

It's all paddling, right?

Don't pay attention to that one mal-adjusted 3rd year paddler who bitched. We are all interested in our fellow paddlers achievements in all paddle sports.

Congrates

I hear Jacques Villeneuve finished last in yet another Racing event.

and i think sporty spice rallied from behind in the 4th at Woodbine yesterday to surprise many with a 3 length victory.

Just thought you would want to know about similarly related sporting topics.

As someone who has had the honour of racing against not only Adam van Koeverden , but also the Buday bros. in DRAGON BOAT... I always like to see how they do on the international level.

But hey next time they do a story in the "life" section of the paper about the 35 year old Sales Consultant who managed to spare 3 hours a week to train for the "big local festival" and come 3rd in the D division, but thats a good thing because it means hitting the beer tent earlier then maybe you can read something a little more relevance to your life.

The sad thing is I have never touched a C-2 or K-1 in my life but it aggrevates me to see so much resentment for some atheletes who spend countless hours training to be the best in the world.

So bravo Adam... as a fellow Canadain hope you kick some but. I know you have worked for it.
