Verdun Adren

| Re: Lachine Festival | June 2 2006, 10:54 PM |
So who wants to bet on how many boats the wongs will ram at this festival? At Onake, which is a relatively small festival, they managed to ram a boat on every race, except for the knock out, where they aledgedly say something pushed them over into one lane, then over to the other lane on the opposite side. Ya right! I'll tell you what pushed you over, your incompetent steer person. This guy needs to be banned! He causes accidents, then tells the other crew that he hits, that it's thier fault and not his! |

| A better prediction | June 9 2006, 7:20 AM |
I have no inside information, but here is a better prediction:
FINAL KNOCKOUT
1 Pdbc mixed A (clearly the best team if they come to race)
2 Verdun DBC - Adrenaline (always solid)
3 Wongs DBC Slayers (the mighty may have fallen but by how much? We will see)
4 CASCADES GRAND MASTERS (assuming they have improved as they work toward Worlds - otherwise move up 5 or 6)
B KNOCKOUT
5 BMO Groupe financier (a toss up for 4-5-6)
6 TELUS Phoenixes (a toss up for 4-5-6)
7 Phoenix ETS (why the hell were they ranked to low after a good start in Pickering???? Might even be higher)
8 Paddle Demons (slowly moving up - if 9-10-11 have improved they will take this spot)
C KNOCKOUT
9 Zoku (have to assume these guys are about as fast as Isshin, move them up a spot if you think the merger actually helped this team, move them down if you think they got worse)
10 Verdun DBC - Express (good sprinting crew, they may be able to move up to 8 or 9)
The rest fall off the usual order, except HyperActifs who people are ranking low so I jumped on the wagon. They may be able to move up, I have no inside info.
11 HyperActifs
12 Pointe Claire Dragonflyers
D KNOCKOUT
13 CSBD - Magic Dragons
14 PIRATES
15 Dragons Hydro-Québec

It depends if they send their A-team, or just "a" team. Get it?
One year in Montreal they were very strong, and the local teams complained about them being in the local division. They got ping-ponged around for a bit, as did other teams in a bizarre domino effect. ("What do you mean we got bumped to "B" division? Who, Cascades? Aren't they in local?")
Two years ago they STOMPED the Toronto Island Community Final as the 7th team in a 6 boat race (via protest). It was a very impressive performance.
Other races they have been just ordinary.
So it depends on who they send. |

The "b" division was less convincing and hyper actifs slipped by and went into the "b" division. As fr the "c" division.... well who cares anyways ! hahaha
Women... logical order no surprise there
As for the mens.... not quite sure... MDBC kicked everyone'S asses in the first race, then finished on a close second place (0.3 secs) behind PDBC. Gros mongols trailing 0.75 secs after. Interesting .. very interesting !

Many of the formerly mixed crews in our area have become women-only crews. For community crews it is often hard to find eight men. Finding 22 for a full crew must be almost impossible. Perhaps this is what happened in Lachine as well. | |
