Lots of Corporate sponsored teams are entering Montreal under a new name to save the extra $1000 admission fee.
Corp pay close to $2000 and everyone else is paying $1000.00

It's good to hear the corporate teams are going community. Too long the MIDBRF and the TIDBRF have ripped them off. Maybe they'll wise up? |

The real question is if they were ripping off corporate teams or giving community teams a break?

You're joking right? Both have seen their fees increase 20-25% over the last year.
The Charity is forced upon teams whether they want to participate or not.

In Montreal their appears to be a big schism developing. Their is the MIDBRF which is a "Cultural and dragon boat festival" and the Quebec Cup which is a racers festival.
MIDBRF is the sister festival to Centre Island and Quebec Cup is a Dragon Boat Canada race.... |

So, explain why they canned the Taiko drumming-even though it's japanese-, no martial arts or traditional music displays or why they did not have a closing ceremony last year. |

The Taiko drumming was cancelled last year because of a major disagreement the organizers had with the Taiko drumming group. |
