| Hi,
I was wondering if there are any reasons why you can't work out at night, an hour or a half hour before you go to sleep? Either some intense cardio work, or weights.
Any input would be helpful.
Have a great day, all!

I have a very large wife that I work out with just before going to sleep every night. This provides me with both cardio and weight lifting excercises. I have no problems getting to sleep afterwards. In fact, I'm usually sound asleep within 90 secods after the end of our workouts.
Hope that helps. |

it has something to do with the quality of sleep you get afterwards...your muscles should be resting, not trying to repair. Just like eating right before bed is bad because your stomach is working to digest all the food while it should be resting. |

It's during sleep that your muscles get the benefit of repairing, adapting and possibly growing. That's when you want it to take place.
Exercising prior to bedtime is disruptive to most people because it makes them feel more energized for a period of time. | |
