Water practices are Thursdays 7-8pm at Sunnyside from mid-April to mid-September (may possibly change to Balmy Beach or Outer Harbour). Looking for enthusiastic individuals committed to giving their best efforts and motivated to improving fitness/strength levels on their own. We lost half our team to jobs, relocations, studies, family commitments etc and haven't really rebuilt the team since. We were a one-practice-a-week phenomena, making A and B divisions but then we lost half our team to jobs, relocations, studies etc and the team hasn't been quite the same since. This year, we hope to focus on seriously rebuilding a good strong core. We are competitive but not fanatic, so if you think you might be a good fit ...... we'd like to hear from you.

Gay Blade? Please explain.

Zorro, The Gay Blade is a 1981 feature motion picture. This comedy starred George Hamilton as both Don Diego de la Vega (Zorro) and his gay twin brother Ramon, who joined the British navy under the pseudonym Bunny Wigglesworth.

After Don Diego is sidelined by an injury, Ramon secretly stands in as a more colorful version of Zorro with a whip instead of a sword. Hamilton also portrayed Margarita, Bunny Wigglesworth's alter ego in drag, who attempts to woo his adversary Captain Esteban. Ramon's gender bending identity unwittingly complicates Don Diego's romance with activist Charlotte Taylor Wilson, played by Lauren Hutton.

A gay team - long over due...

We are as gay as any other team that paddles and likes to wear form fitting uniforms. Not that there is anything wrong with paddling and wearing form fitting uniforms.....

Now here are a bunch of "bright sparks" who obviously are as stunted as they come and nothing better to do than cruise the forum making stupid remarks. Hey Richard and so-called Blade paddler - get a life!

Hey - January 31 2007, 2:37 PM why bash Richard? First - I don't think he claimed to be a Blade and second, of all the stupid comments on this thread it was the least offensive. Lastly at least he had an opinion on gay teams in our sport and even stuck his name in front of it.
