It's about the one where we're all in stroke together. This has got to be the tool question of the day. Their is no set perfect stroke rate. Macau last year had a mega fast stroke rate at the Worlds last year, other teams have a slower stroke rate. it depends on what the strength and weakness of the team is.
In my case it's a 69 before my money shot |

Last year I was on a couple of teams @ the CCWC. One team was stroking @ under 55spm , the other @ 80. Which is most effective is a good question. Fast is more effective in the old teak boats but both can work well in BUKs , however for slow to go fast the team must have HUGE horsepower i.e. National team. Fast is difficult to do , hard to pace for 500m and difficult to stay in sync. The Chinese (Shun De) and other top Asian teams raced @ 100+ spm in the old days , but Canada beat them occasionally.
Most teams cannot make fast or slow work and should be in between. |

Some of the better teams have a very slow and efficient stroke rate. | |
